Invitation: Birthing Kit Assembly day with Canberra Rotaract

Canberra Rotaract is proud to host it's second Birthing Kit Assembly Day in support of Birthing Kits Foundation Australia (BKFA).

The BKFA is an organisation dedicated to providing a clean and safe birthing environment for women in developing countries to reduce the incidence of infant and maternal morbidity and mortality. They do this by raising funds for and distributing Birthing Kits.
It is estimated that over 300,000 women die annually in childbirth, many from preventable infections. That’s over 800 women every day. They assist women in the most challenging of situations – those who for reasons of isolation, cultural choice or poor transport have little or no assistance during childbirth, often giving birth at home. By providing a clean birthing kit these mothers have the resources to reduce infection.

We invite you to join us assemble 800 birthing kits on Saturday 18 November 2017 from 10am. Come along, give to this great cause, make new friends, share a free lunch and leave that afternoon with a warm fuzzy feeling. Everyone is welcome!. Find out more and register your attendance here:

Canberra Rotaract is a volunteer organisation for students and young professionals aged 18 to 30 who are out to make a positive and tangible difference on a local and international scale through grassroots involvement. The club has no political or religious association – we welcome all young people who are keen to contribute to the community and have a good time while they're at it.
